Not yet. Downloads are paused while we prepare the Google Play release. Join early access and we will email you the Play Store link when it opens. Do not install Namaskara from a file someone sends you: it is fake.

We are packaging every improvement from the pilot as an Android App Bundle for Google Play, so everyone gets the same checked, signed app with automatic updates. We publish the signing certificate on the Get Namaskara page on launch day.

Not yet. The web version is paused until after the Android release, and there is no iPhone app yet. See where things stand.

Your 10-digit Indian mobile number (it becomes your username), your name and a strong password. During the pilot you may need an invite code from someone already on Namaskara.

On purpose. SMS codes can be stolen by swapping your SIM. Namaskara uses a password, and you can add an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) for a second step. A stolen SIM then opens nothing.

The app asks on first launch. Later: tap your face at the top of the Overview tab → App language. 19 languages are available; only English is fully reviewed, the others are drafts we are improving.

It looked like an OTP, PIN, CVV, card number, Aadhaar number or password. No genuine person needs these in a chat, so Namaskara does not send them. Remove the number and send again. If someone is pressuring you for it, it is a scam.

Do not tap links, do not pay, do not install anything, and do not share codes. Banks, police and courier companies do not threaten you on chat. Use Block or Report at the top of the chat. A warning is a pointer, not a verdict; a missing warning does not mean a message is safe.

When someone you have never talked to writes to you, they can send 3 messages with no links, photos, files or calls until you tap Accept. You can also Block or Report straight away.

Links never open automatically. Tap "Tap to see why" to check it: genuine bank sites end in .bank.in, government sites in gov.in or nic.in. Shortened links and look-alike addresses are flagged. If you trust it, copy it into your browser yourself.

Fake "bank", "KYC" and "electricity" apps are the most common way phones are taken over. APK, EXE and similar program files are blocked for everyone.

They are blocked for you immediately. If three different people report the same account, it is restricted: it can only message people who already accepted it.

It is a private reaction. Nobody is told. It opens a second look at the message in the Safety tab.

On Android, Namaskara hides itself from screenshots and screen-sharing apps, so a fake "support agent" on AnyDesk or TeamViewer cannot read your messages or codes.

Open Chats and type their full 10-digit mobile number. For everyone's privacy, partial numbers return nothing.

Long-press the message (or tap ⋯ under it) and choose Reply. A quote of the original appears above your answer.

Long-press a message and pick a face along the top. It is your own drawn face showing that feeling. Tap the same one again to take it back. Edit your face under Overview → your face → Apna Chehra.

In a chat, tap ⋮ → Disappearing messages and choose 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days. New messages you send are deleted from the server when the timer ends. Timers only start after the other person has accepted you, so a stranger's first message always stays as evidence. Remember that anyone can still take a photo of their screen.

No. There are no read receipts. Unread dots are kept on your phone only.

Tap the group icon in Chats. Up to 30 people. Admins can write rules; people agree to them before joining, and again when they change. You can archive a group just for yourself.

Turn a message into an explicit agreement: what was meant and by when. The other person confirms, and it becomes a task for them. Useful for payments, deadlines and family plans.

Yes. One-to-one voice and video calls go directly between phones, or through a relay that cannot decrypt them. Group calls are not available yet.

Up to 12 MB per file in the pilot. Files are encrypted on your phone before upload and are never opened automatically.

Encryption keys never leave your old phone, so a new phone cannot read old messages. Sign in, create new keys, and new messages will arrive. Encrypted backup is on our roadmap.

Password recovery is not available in the pilot. Contact us; we cannot read your messages, but we can help you regain access to your account after checking it is you.

Overview → your face → Security centre → Two-step verification. Scan the code with an authenticator app and save your recovery codes somewhere safe.

In-app deletion is not ready yet. Contact us and we will delete it by hand.
